1) What is AWS?

The AWS platform consists of five different services: Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Relational Database Service (RDS), DynamoDB, and Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3). Each service offers something different, but they are all designed to provide a greater degree of flexibility to businesses. For example, EC2 allows you to rent virtual servers on-demand. The ability to create and adjust your infrastructure as you need it can be very valuable in certain situations, which is one reason why so many companies use AWS.

2) What is a Relational Database Service (RDS)?

One of many questions posed during a job interview is how you would improve security in your industry or company. This can be an intimidating question if you’re unprepared, but answering with concrete steps shows that you’ve put some thought into it. You should have an answer in mind and be able to communicate it confidently during your interview. Here are some key tips for answering how you can improve security in cloud technology: Keep your work laptop and phone secure: Any files containing sensitive information should be stored on encrypted drives or locked away within private cloud applications such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Box or OneDrive . If not password protected, consider keeping them on a flash drive instead. You should also make sure to password protect any personal laptops and phones used while working remotely.

3) How can you improve security in the cloud?

A common interview question that looks at your knowledge of security and how you can implement it in a cloud computing environment. If you know how to check for and prevent breaches, you should be able to provide a good answer. If not, look into it before answering. Know what best practices are, as well as methods used to protect data through encryption and firewalls.

4) What are some common network monitoring services?

The most popular cloud monitoring services include AWS, New Relic, and Datadog. AWS CloudWatch gives developers visibility into metrics and event data for their AWS resources by sending notifications when thresholds are crossed. A free tier is available for microservices applications. New Relic enables application performance management from installation to retirement of applications in any infrastructure or cloud environment using a full set of product integration options, including APM agents, SDKs and custom integrations such as AWS X-Ray. Datadog’s customizable dashboard visualizes all your infrastructure and application metrics in one place so you can gain new insights into how your business performs every second of every day.

5) How can you add redundancy to EC2 instances?

I have implemented read replicas and set up a proper backup schedule. This is useful to make sure that we don’t lose data even if an EC2 instance fails. If an instance crashes, EBS volumes can also be detached and attached to another EC2 instance. When running snapshots on EC2 instances, you can also configure them to run automatically instead of manual backup. Additionally, by using S3 backup service, you could back up your EBS volume snapshots as well as any other AWS resources such as load balancers or other EBS volumes.
